Education Philosophy

We believe that religious education is a life-long pursuit for Christians. We emphasize the Sunday education hour and Bible studies for kids and adults alike. Our various education opportunities allow kids and adults to further their study of our faith and the Bible, as well as enabling us to benefit from fellowship and discussion with other members.

Education Offerings

Sunday School - Sunday School classes are offered for ages 3 through adult each week.

There is no Sunday School for children during the summer months. We will resume in September.

Pastor's Adult Bible Class will continue to meet weekly through the Summer, beginning at 9:15 a.m. on Sunday mornings.

Wednesday Night Live - Wednesday Night Live is a concept that incorporates fun, fellowship, music rehearsals, dinner, and religious education. Kids in grades 3 through 12 are encouraged to attend from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. each Wednesday during the school year. This 2-hour block of time incorporates religious education, dinner, and a rotating series called music-arts-worship.

The Wednesday Night Live Program will resume in September.

Pre-Confirmation and Confirmation Classes - Confirmation consists of a 2-year program at Ascension, which can be begun in 7th grade. Pre-confirmation classes are offered to kids in 3rd through 6th grades. Pre-confirmation and confirmation classes supplement and complement Sunday school, providing a solid religious education in preparation for Confirmation. Pre-confirmation and confirmation classes are held during the school year as part of Wednesday Night Live.

Confirmation and Pre-confirmation Classes will resume in September.

Vacation Bible School - Traditionally offered for a week during the summer, Vacation Bible School is a fun and educational opportunity for kids ages 3 through 6th grade. This Summer our Vacation Bible School and LRR Day Camp will be held from June 21-June 25. Contact Kathy Johnson at 303-794-4636 for more information.

Kids' Worship - Held during part of the 10:30 a.m. worship service, this communicates the lessons from the church service in a format that is easily understood and absorbed by kids ages 3 through 2nd grade.

Kid's Worship will resume in September.

Weekly Adult Bible Studies - Numerous Bible studies are offered during the week. These include women's studies, men's studies, family studies, and others. There is truly a Bible study and time to match just about everyone's needs:

• Women's Bible Study (Tuesdays, 9:30 a.m.) will continue to meet through the Summer.
• Wednesday Night Live Adult Bible Study (Wednesdays, 5 p.m.) will resume in September.
• Men's Bible Study (Thursdays, 9 a.m.) will resume in September.
• Koinonia Bible Study (1st and 3rd Thursdays, 1:30 p.m.) will continue to meet through the Summer.
• Sunday Morning Adult Bible Study (Sundays, 9:15 a.m.) "The Lessons of the Day " (led by Pastor Larson) will continue through the Summer.
